Aaron Schneekloth is the new head coach of the Avalanche AHL affiliate Colorado Eagles, succeeding Greg Cronin, the organization announced Thursday.Schneekloth has been on the Eagles’ coaching staff for 10 years, including a stint as head coach when the team played in the East Coast Hockey League. A Texas man who was reported missing as a teenager in 2015 ultimately returned home a day later but he and his mother deceived officers by giving false names over the ensuing eight years, police said Thursday.Houston police detectives said prosecutors have declined to bring false report charges against Janie Santana and her son, Rudolph “Rudy” Farias IV, but that their investigation is continuing. A new report from Realtor.com indicates that rent prices are decreasing everywhere except one California city.The May report from the real estate listing website found that rent prices have dropped about 0.5% for rental properties with up to two bedrooms. (BCN/KRON) -- Oakland police have arrested a man they describe as a person of interest in connection with a June 21 fatal shooting, according to the Oakland Police Department. Eric Locelvira was arrested in Chicago for the homicide of Matheus Gaidos, which occurred on June 21 on 26th Street in Oakland. "Due to the tireless and collaborative efforts of OPD Homicide Investigators and the US Marshals, Locelvira was safely taken into custody in Chicago," police said in a statement.Previously, photos had been released and Locelvira was identified as one of the individuals involved. (KRON) -- The FBI San Francisco Field Office has identified a new trend in which sexual predators are using "group grooming" tactics to target and groom children for sexual exploitation. "Throughout our investigations, the FBI has uncovered evidence that online predators have banded together in groups in an attempt to victimize children," said Special Agent in Charge Robert K. Tripp. FBI San Francisco identified instances where online predators worked together to find potential victims, expose children to explicit content, and assess their openness to sexual exploitation. In some instances, groups of predators posed as children to join gaming clans, chats, and social media aimed toward children.
