Nuggets' Christian Braun seeking NBA title a year after winning NCAA championship DENVER (AP) — Denver Nuggets rookie Christian Braun is showing that the NBA Finals is not too big of a stage for him. The 21st pick in the draft last summer, Braun has made the most of his minutes off the bench, sinking 10 of 12 shots, grabbing a half dozen rebounds and collecting four steals against the Miami Heat while giving teammates an extended breather. “That’s a rare rookie right here,” Aaron Gordon said. “From Day 1 he’s been on top of it. This is a real winner right here. I say that because he’s always in the right spot. He’s in the right place at the right time, and he’s been doing that all year.” Braun has a chance to become just the fifth player in NBA history to win an NBA title a year after winning the NCAA championship, joining Bill Russell, Magic Johnson, Henry Bibby and Billy Thompson. Sold-out crowd supports Nuggets from Ball Arena Braun gave the Nuggets a much-needed lift in Denver’s Game 3 rout of the Heat. With Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray making history wit...

When speaking to the media during the previous six weeks, players have a noticeable glimmer in their eyes. Much of that has to do with adding a future Hall of Fame quarterback.Since Aaron Rodgers was traded from the Packers to the Jets on April 26, the expectations at Florham Park have entirely changed. When Jets coach Robert Saleh arrived in 2021, the Jets were a homecoming opponent, a team that was considered an easy win on the schedule. After making Oscar history, Troy Kotsur pays tribute to his father in new short film NEW YORK (AP) — When Troy Kotsur made history as the first Deaf male actor win an Oscar at the 2022 Academy Awards, he was thinking about his father. By then, Kotsur had already become a hero to the Deaf community, widely celebrated for his acclaimed performance in the family drama “CODA.” It was easy to admire the tenacity and talent that had brought Kotsur, in his early 50s, to the movies’ biggest stage after years of struggle as an actor in an industry not known for its hospitality to Deaf performers. To Kotsur, his persistence was most owed to one person: His father. At the Oscar podium, Kotsur dedicated the award to him. “You are my hero,” he said. “He didn’t look at me as having limitations. He continued to push me and push me,” Kotsur said in an interview Thursday through an interpreter. “That’s why I am who I am today.”In “To My Father,” a short film premiering this week at the Tribeca Film Festival, Kotsur extends and deepens that tribute to explain his father’s...
