7Weather – It’s a cool, damp and foggy start! Scattered showers will be around through midday/early afternoon. Then it’ll dry out and we’ll get some breaks of sun. Temperatures will be mild. A cold front brings the chance for strong storms tonight.This storm is part of a dynamic system that caused a severe weather outbreak yesterday from Iowa down to Alabama. The system will weaken as it reaches our area. Showers continue this morning as a warm front overtakes the region. Scattered showers will be with us through early afternoon. Then we’ll get some clearing and breaks of sunshine. This along with a warmer air mass will help to push temperatures into the 60s. Low to mid 60s north of 495 and into the Merrimack Valley. Low clouds and showers lingering longer, along with a southwest wind off the chilly ocean water, will keep temperatures in the 50s for the South Coast, Buzzards Bay, Cape and the Islands. Barnstable police are turning to the public for help as they search for a missing 80-year-old man. One man has been arrested after an investigation due to a hate-motivated threatening incidentPolice responded to a call at 10 a.m. on Mar. 31 reporting a verbal threatening incident in the Kennedy Road and Eglinton Avenue area.The suspect allegedly was inside Kennedy subway station with a sharp object and was chasing several people. JALALABAD, Afghanistan (AP) — A women-run radio station in Afghanistan’s northeast has been shut down for playing music during the holy month of Ramadan, a Taliban official said Saturday.Sadai Banowan, which means women’s voice in Dari, is Afghanistan’s only women-run station and started 10 years ago. AUSTIN (KXAN) — The City of Austin released a memo Thursday to bring awareness to the many concurrent events scheduled near the University of Texas and the downtown Austin area Saturday.Drivers should be prepared to expect traffic delays due to the multiple events around the area.“Staff anticipates very heavy congestion around the university and in the downtown area during and after these events. A late spring snowstorm Friday night and early Saturday brought blizzard warnings, booming thunder and several inches of snow on the ground also left thousands without power and dozens stranded at the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport.This latest storm makes this year the third snowiest winter on record, with at total so far of 89.7 inches, said Caleb Grunzke, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service Twin Cities.While most areas of the Metro saw between 7 and 9 inches of snow, a foot of snow was reported in some northwest areas, such as Medina and Monticello, he said.
