Days after fatal hit-and-run, 23-year-old man turns himself in

A 23-year-old man has been arrested after turning himself in for a fatal hit-and-run crash in Riverside County last week, officials announced.  The incident occurred on Sept. 20 in the 5000 block of Mission Boulevard just before 3:30 p.m., according to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff Station responded to the scene and located the victim, identified as 42-year-old Jamie Pruitt in the roadway. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.   Shirtless man in golf cart leads police on chase Through their preliminary investigation, deputies learned that the suspect, now identified as Jose Manuel Aguilar-Acosta, fled the area in a white 2012 Toyota Corolla. Father, daughter detained by Alameda County deputies after false gun report

HAYWARD, Calif. (KRON) -- A father-daughter bonding moment turned into a nightmare for an East Bay family after Alameda County Sheriff's deputies handcuffed the father. The sheriff's office says they "sympathize with the family's frustration" after the incident. Anthony Hudson said he and his daughter were filming a TikTok video on Friday near the Hayward BART station when deputies showed up, put him in handcuffs and pointed a gun at him. His 14-year-old daughter was patted down by another deputy. Fairfield school put on lockdown due to man 'touching himself inappropriately'

(KRON) -- A Fairfield school was placed on lockdown on Monday after a man with his pants down started "touching himself inappropriately" in front of the school, the Fairfield Police Department said. The man had what parents thought was a gun, but police later determined it to be a lighter. Deandre Dickson, 34, of Vallejo was arrested a short distance away from the school. The search is on for a driver who was involved in a hit-and-run that sent two teenagers to the hospital.
